I've just returned from my annual trip to India, which I often refer to as my "reality check". Despite what many people think, even yoga teachers are subject to the challenges of 21st century living and it took me a while to slow down, to breathe more freely and find a sense of space between my thoughts. That was when the magic happened - as soon as I was easier in myself, life around me slipped into a similar groove. Conversations, interactions and connections flowed, time slowed down, everyone around me seemed more friendly and relaxed.
Once again I saw how easy it is to hold your breath through life until you reach a point where you give yourself permission to exhale. Some time ago a friend told me that someone she knew had said "I don't have time to be happy."
